About Us
If you're done with reading what everyone else is talking about and want a safe space to read about the in-betweens of life, welcome to The Second Drawer. While the top drawer is where the polished, obvious, presentable things live, the second drawer is where everything else ends up—the messy, unfiltered, forgotten versions of ourselves; somewhere between lighters and letters.
At The Second Drawer, we want to open that version of our generation and write about what we find (we're 20-year-olds, not creeps).
Because we don’t always choose what we keep. Sometimes, life leaves things there slowly and quietly, until one day we open the drawer and realise they’ve been with us for years.
After having worked in magazines and newspapers for over 2 years, ghostwritten for various brands and brainstormed way too many meta ads, we understand one thing: very few are okay with opening "the second drawer" and looking inside it with care and detail. Most magazines and editorials stick to the polished parts of life. We wanted to use our experience in editorial, content, and copywriting (and loads of reading) to write about the culture, stories, and everyday experiences that shape young adults, especially the ones that rarely make it into the headlines.
Because the stories worth keeping aren’t always the polished ones.
iykyk.
